The holiday season is near, it’s only right we educate you on how best to protect your lash extensions!
We can’t get enough of lash extensions and travel! Lash extensions are a great option when you experience an itinerary as long as your constitute routine. Be gorgeous on the run with following these best practices to keep your lash extensions looking new every day.
HERE ARE A FEW TIPS TO KEEPING YOUR LASH EXTENSIONS LOOKING FABULOUS ALL Holiday LONG:
1) Wash your lashes (& pat dry) after going swimming.
As time passes, both chlorine & sodium water can affect lash retention. Whether you are going swimming in a pool, lake or the sea, we recommend rinsing with fresh water post swim, and then combing through your lashes with a lash wand or patting (no rubbing!) them dry to eliminate excess water.
2) Avoid direct/extreme heat near your lashes.
Exposing your lashes to extreme heat can “relax” the curl, or even worse…singe the lashes! When grilling or snuggling up next that toasty campfire, make sure never to stand too close or straight overheat, to keep your lashes in tact and looking beautiful!
3) Holiday = aquatic activity & exercise = more sweating.
It’s rather impossible to perform around in sunlight and not sweating. Sweat carries oils from your skin layer, that can run into your site, and influence lash retention. At The Lash Shop, we strongly have confidence in the great things about exercise and “sweating it out”. However, to fight the effects of that sweating on your lashes, we recommend utilizing a towel or sweatband when exercising, or in extreme sweating situations (such as hot yoga) wash lashes post work out with fresh water.
4) Maintaining your lashes clean!
Being outdoors more – camping, backpacking, swimming, etc- can result in increased dirt & dust collecting in your lashes. We recommend keeping them clean by rinsing in the bathtub, allowing water to pass through, or using our lash facial cleanser and super delicate cleansing brush to clear them regularly.
5) Sunscreen application.
We believe in sunscreen! It is mandatory for most of your favorite getaway activities. It is important to keep in mind that lots of sunscreen brands include a variety of natural oils, which in turn can run onto the lashes, leading to excessive dropping. We recommend taking extra treatment when applying your SPF, preventing the eyes area, and allowing it to fully soak in before going swimming or sweating.
BECAUSE OF LASH EXTENSIONS, IT’S NEVER BEEN SIMPLER TO STAY Dynamic AND ENJOY A RANGE OF VACATION ACTIVITIES, EVEN WHILE Sense GORGEOUS AND Picture Blast READY AT ANY TIME!
